Another soldier email warning

Dear Church Family,
As the holiday season approaches, we are sent many well wishes and prayer requests from those we know, and some we don't know. The copied email below is one such email. This story is true on one front, the wife mentioned in it did have cervical cancer in 2001. As of 2006, she is still cancer free. However, this is not the wife of someone serving in Iraq. I do ask you to please continue to pray for Cindy to stay cancer free and for her family, but wanted you to have all the information available about her story. Gary is serving in Iraq while his young wife is fighting cancer here. Prayer
is a powerful thing.

Tough times don't last... Tough people do !!!
My name is Gary Hogan. Some of you receiving this know me, some do not.
My wife, Cindy, is 32 years old and has just been diagnosed 3 days ago
with stage 4 cervical cancer and her chances for survival are very slim.
She was pregnant with our second child and had miscarried
recently at 3 months, and now we know why. This is a request for you to
for ward this e-mail to every one you know asking for prayer. The more
people that pray for her to be healed, the better.

Pray and forward. It only
takes a second to hit 'forward'.

Please do it and don't delete this, your prayer can, and perhaps will,
save her life. Please pray and ask everyone you know to pray for
the HEALING of Cindy and the removal of all cancer in her body, so she
may enjoy all that life has to offer, and to continue to be the
wonderful mother to our 5 year old son, Michael. The power of Prayer is unsurpassed.
I want the whole world to have her in their prayers the
next few weeks. God will hear our cry. Please do not be o ffended
by my plea.. This is only a request for your help.

our request for healing! No words can express the power we have when we
each do a little to come together.

Email Alert- Cannot deliver mail to an undiscloed recipient

Dear Church Family,
Below is an email I have received several times in the past few days. As I am sure many of you have received it as well.
This was such an awesome idea. I was going to include this in the next newsletter so I double checked the accuracy first. I do this with most of the military related emails I receive. I just went to the Walter Reed website, and they CANNOT accept packages or letters addressed to "any" or "a recovering soldier", etc. There has to be a specific name, or it is considered undeliverable. The same goes for packages overseas. Since 9-11 several changes have been made for security/terrorism reasons, and this was one of them.
If any of you know of any military personnel recovering at Walter Reed, or any other medical facility and wouldn't mind sharing their information and address, we would be more than happy to send as many letters to them as possible!
So please be aware that ANY email you might receive this holiday season that asks for mail to be sent to a soldier, and no names are specified, it is considered undeliverable mail by our U.S. government.

This will be a program during WOW, with dinner being served at 5:45pm (reservations appreciated and $3 cost for dinner) and the wrapping party from 6:30-7:30 pm. sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out
who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.
